Can PBIS be trauma-informed? Is trauma-informed practice possible in a school that uses PBIS? Do rewards, points, and "positive motivation" work for students affected by trauma? Let's talk about all this and more.
This 1-hour workshop (including Q&A time) will give an overview of the PBIS-trauma connection. (Spoiler alert: my perspective is that PBIS and trauma-informed practice are incompatible, so come with an open mind!). I'll give some suggestions and further reading for alternatives to PBIS but this isn't a how-to "behavior management" workshop; we'll focus more on the philosophy and big picture behind PBIS and trauma-informed practice.
Registration is pay-what-you-can (including $0) with a suggested fee of $15. If you can contribute more than the suggested amount, you help support my ability to offer workshops in this way!
